Masters’ dissertation : « Design de peu, mais pas peu de Design »
What are the aspects of design that lead us to speak of a branch containing « the little » it encompasses?
Coupled with an almost imperceptible change in trends and new types of consumption, design unfolds and evolves without us even noticing. It alters our daily lives and shapes the ways we perceive the world around us.
At the heart of an industrialized economy, this discipline places the user at the center of attention. It shapes the objects they use as well as the means to use those objects, embedding them in an environment constantly challenged.
The quantity of objects, the messages they convey, the programming of uses, and the speed of the world are explored here to determine the place of « the little » in a discipline essential for highlighting societal changes.
Research of possible assemblies with clamps with a view to understanding materials and their mechanical properties
DIY, as a practice and place of construction tricks, is a field that the design explores in spite of itself. The ways are varied, the expression is carried out directly on the material, and it can then be envisaged that DIY has a preponderant place in the process of reflection within the design itself, which is more a space for drawing, re-drawing. Here we create to succeed, without forgetting the most accurate means of implementation, sometimes in removing things, sometimes adding some others.
A symbol of a fast and effective DIY is the plastic clamp. Produced in millions of copies, and available at a very affordable price, it makes it possible to link, associate, various and varied materials, and can even be used independently for complex assemblages.
